Nine steps, about ten minutes

Let us work out where you stand

This is the conversation a good agent has with you, written down. It ends with a licensed person calling you back, and it will not quote you a premium, because nobody honest can.

Demonstration site. Plainspoken Medicare is not a real company. Nothing you type here is an application, and nothing is sent to Medicare, to CMS or to any insurance company. Your answers stay in this browser tab and are erased when you close it.

We do not offer every plan available in your area. Any information we provide is limited to those plans we do offer in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE to get information on all of your options.

Before you start

What this does, what it does not do, and what we will ask you for.

What this will do

  • Work out every Medicare enrolment window that applies to you, from your date of birth.
  • Find your county from your ZIP code, and ask you which one if your ZIP covers more than one.
  • Check your prescriptions against the National Library of Medicine's drug list.
  • Lay out the Advantage against Original Medicare decision both ways, with the real trade-offs.
  • Hand all of it to a licensed agent, with your permission, in writing.

What it will not do

  • Quote you a premium. There is no public Medicare plan pricing service. Any website that shows you a Medicare Advantage premium without asking a carrier is either using private data or making it up, and we will not pretend otherwise.
  • Ask for your Social Security number. Ever.
  • Ask for your Medicare number. An agent needs that only at the point of a real enrolment.
  • Send anything anywhere. This is a demonstration.

Where your answers live

In this browser tab, and nowhere else, until the last step. Closing the tab erases them. You can leave and come back within the same session and pick up where you stopped, and every step has its own web address so the Back button works properly.
